Non-tribal Class III gaming is currently not permitted in New York State. Despite this Constitutional prohibition, New York already hosts gaming at its nine racetracks, on reservation land within the state, and through its State-sponsored Lottery.

New York is now preparing for a November 2013 vote on a referendum to amend the New York State Constitution to permit up to seven non-tribal gaming casinos in the state.

A Gaming Commission was established on February 1, 2013 to oversee gaming throughout the State.

It is not yet known how the selection of casino sites will be managed. However, we are confident that the primary emphasis will be on projects that generate the greatest revenue for the state, create the most jobs, and have strong local support.

We believe that the Nevele Resort, Casino & Spa meets all of these criteria. Please help us and Support The Nevele by writing a letter to your elected officials.
